Methodology
What we track
Statutory employer on-costs (retirement, social and health insurance, injury cover, payroll taxes, mandatory bonuses), minimum leave and termination rules, and the published prices of employer-of-record providers, for New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines and India.
Sources
We use official sources first: government departments, tax and revenue offices, social insurance agencies, statutes and official tribunal documents. For EOR prices we use each provider's own pricing page. We don't publish third-party estimates as fact.
Verification status
- Verified We read the figure on the official source page and recorded the date.
- Pending re-check The figure comes from an official source but we haven't yet re-read it on the page itself (for example, the page was unavailable). It is shown with this flag.
- Coming soon We only have a secondary source, or nothing yet. No figure is shown until it's verified.
Current dataset: 34 of 47 rows verified on official sources (as of 22 Oct 2026).
Dates
Every row shows a "checked" date, the last day we confirmed it against the source. We aim to re-check every row at least quarterly and around known change dates (1 April in NZ, 1 July in Australia, January in the Philippines). Changes are recorded in the change log.
Calculator
The calculator applies only the rates shown on the country pages, with their caps and floors. It excludes benefits, leave accruals, state payroll tax, workers' compensation and anything marked "coming soon". Exchange rates are entered by you. The result is an estimate.
